Studio Atelier

7 May 2015

This duo is a force to be reckoned with and one that will inspire us all. I was asked to photograph both Kimberly Tan and Jeff Swinyard by Maya De’Roche from House Nerd. A home tour that certainly stands out from the rest in regards to clever design with a touch of youth and creativity. When interviewed by Maya, Jeff said:

“At the heart of the project was the idea of celebrating the character and charm of the 100 year old cottage by contrasting as well as blending its period features with contemporary details. We wanted to show what could be achieved on a smaller inner city block without compromising on living space. Traditionally many older homes in the area have small poky rooms. We wanted to create a home which had a generosity of space and an abundance of natural light.”

The talented pair created this home together with the aim to sell it as an investment. Published on House Nerd as well as the New Homes Liftout in the West Australian, Kim and Jeff from Studio Atelier are an exciting team heading for great things.
